Handmade to me means somebody took the time and care to pick the fabric or the wool to create an item with love that is unlike any other mass produced item! And I am dying to get my copy so I can blog about how lovely it is!!
Handmade means to me from the heart. Personal, and the value of someone's time and talent is priceless
I've sat here for a few minutes REALLY thinking about this! After all this thinking, I still can't put my finger on the exact word that I need to describe what Handmade means to me. It's gotta to be something to do with the Utter Joy and excitement in my Mother-In-Laws eyes as she frantically hands me all of the newest little projects she's just finished and gives me her step by step instructions on how to make them. It's the pride I feel when, finding time in amongst caring for my two Beautiful boys, I FINALLY finish something and hold it in my hands and smile knowing "I Made This". It's walking thru markets and seeing tables of beautifully crafted items and knowing there was some clever person caring for this item every step of the way and not just some stranger in some warehouse, watching the clock til it's time to go home. So I guess, to me, 'Handmade' means Care & Pride, maybe with a little bit of Love thrown in for good measure.
Handmade.. living slowly. Connecting with your environment. The joy of making.
My 4 year old recently asked me why I sew and in return I explained to her that I love sewing as it reminds me of when I was a little girl and my mummy would sew lovely clothes for me. I then asked her why she thought I love to sew. Her answer " because you like to make pretty things to make people smile and be happy". It melted my heart and it is so very true. I heart handmade :))
Handmade means to me having the freedom to create my designs/ creations & then being able to give them to people as a gift & then having there facing light up when they see them as it's handmade & it's are rare gift handmade by someone else & seeing all the hard work gone into creating that gift & you see how they like it & you it's worth hand making it as it's something that will be treated with love as its handmade & it's rare & not replaceable as each one is made with love.
To be inspired and look at beautiful things. Perfect!
Handmade means made with love. No judgements, no criticisms just acceptance the gift was created with the heart.
Handmade is all of the above, although I'd like to think it is also about creating those handmade products in preference to purchasing the mass produced item, that will eventually fall apart, or has been made by someone less fortunate than us. As a handmade advocate, I am contributing to reducing the effects of a 'throw away' society, thus creating a better environment...Terese
And I love the reaction from the receiver when they see something made with thought and love!!!
Handmade to me means something that is lovingly made, is a little different and has the personal touch - I love making and buying all things handmade!

handmade to me means creativity, care and thought about the person I am making something for. It's about adding a touch of myself to the gifts I make for people, and it's about trying to reconnect to a world that is so commercially and technologically driven.
Handmade is made with thought and care, planning and preparation. Somebody has been inspired with an image, gone to the trouble of gathering materials at their own expense, applied talent and heart and a certain individual style and presented the product attractively to you. That's a lot to expect from someone!
Handmade means to me to be creating something different materials through creativity, love and thinking about it very well received.

Something handmade is more than something made by hand. It's the technique passed down from grandparents to their children and onto us! It's the warmth you get knowing the time and love that was put into the perfect gift for you. And its the timelessness in passing it down to our children!
